1967 Karmann Ghia Convertible For Sale

This is a very rare 1967 Karmann Ghia Convertible for sale. I have owned this car since 1988 and am it's third owner.

  • It's restoration is 90% complete and only needs the top installed (top, headliner, padding, cables and seals are provided) the bumpers re-chromed and installed and some minor cosmetic pieces installed.
  • The car was taken down to bare metal, rocker panels and real floors were cut out and replaced with new metal (not used metal) and it has a new paint job in the original Roulette Green.
  • The car was then undercoated to prevent future rust.
  • New interior carpets and seat covers, door panels and seals...virtually everything that had worn out or rotted had been replaced, but this car is amazingly original and all stock.
  • The only non-stock part is that it has a larger oil cooler, but it is behind the fan shroud and isn't visable.
  • The top frame has been sandblasted and painted, new rubber bushings an new wooden bows.
  • The seat frames were sanded and painted before covers were placed on them.
  • The engine had an overhaul, all metal tins were sandblasted and powder coated in black. It is very clean and runs well, although it has been sitting in the garage for the past two years and I think the carb needs a good cleaning as it's hard to get started.
  • All mechanics were gone through and it has new brakes, clutch, exhaust, battery, etc.
  • The windshield was removed when it was painted and it has a new windshield seal, but has the original winshield and the metal trim around it is original.
  • It has all new seals-door seals, engine seals, etc and the seals for the top and bumpers are included as well as a few trim parts which need to be installed.

Here is what I know needs to be done:
  1. Top needs installed (included)
  2. Bumpers re-chromed and installed (all bumper parts included)
  3. Needs tune up as it's been sitting in the garage about two years so the carb is a bit sticky.
  4. Some trim parts and interior parts need installed

This car is close to being finished. Other than the top and bumpers, it would take someone who knows ghias two or three days to complete the installation of the trim pieces and misc pieces that need to be intalled. All the parts and seals that are known to be needed to complete this car are included. You can have it ALL!

It does have the original owners manual and I have a birth certificate for it from the german factory showing that the paint color and interior color are original, etc. I'm pretty sure I have an original brochure as well and will throw that in the deal.

The car is located on the Eastern Shore of MD. I have about $18,000 in this car with the body work, parts, labor and intial cost of purchase. You can have this car, with its beautiful body and paint job- for only $9,990. If you know how to do a little work to finish it, you will have a show stopper for under $11k with the bumper rechome and top install costs.

There has been so much work done to this car, I have forgotten most if it, so feel free to ask!

ONLY $9990
